Meet “CHAIR-ity” Auction Artist: Pete Vander Velde

Pete Vander Velde

Pete VANDER VELDE (°1959, Brockville, Canada) makes Artistic Photos and conceptual artworks. By stepping out of his comfort zone and exploring the concept of repurposing found objects  in a nostalgic way, he tries to approach the object in a  way allows the viewer to interpret the art in their own way.

With a conceptual approach, he investigates the dynamics of the objects curves and textures, including the manipulation of its effects to create an illusion that is fabricated to conjure the realms of our imagination.By applying abstraction, he creates intense personal moments masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles. His work still references recognizable form but  is a deconstructed piece to the extent that its meaning is shifted from its original purpose.
